Quick little 2 game set against the scrub Orioles, before heading into Boston – big time series starting tonight.
Yesterday morning I was riding high from Tanaka’s great performance the day before. Then my natural “high on life” mentality was ruined by the frustrating loss to this fucking last place team. BUT, I’ll cover that in the next recap.
First, let’s recap the fun game!
Good Tanaka is BACK. #TanakaTuesday is BACK. Fresh off his complete game shutout, Masa added another shutout performance – albeit, only 6 innings this time:

And, here are the combined stats from his last two starts:
15 IP, 6 hits, 0 runs, 3 walks, 17 K’s. DOUBLE WOW.
With Sevy struggling lately, and Sonny Gray reverting back to pitching horribly, we needed Tanaka the Ace to return. When he is healthy and locked in, you can make the argument that he is one of the best pitchers in baseball.

While Tanaka was dealing on the mound, we tacked 6 runs onto the board. Gleyber started us off with a RBI single in the first. Didi added one of his own in the 3rd, followed by a Greggy sac fly in the 5th.
Then we got a nice glimpse of the second best rookie in baseball. (AND, it just so happens that both of the best rookies are on our town. Sorry, Ohtani…)

Love this kid. So damn talented at the plate.
He must be feeling pretty great recently. Since Cashman traded Drury away, this basically showed everyone that the Yankees front office is behind Miggy as the future at third base.
Yes, all those rumors about Machado will pop up again in the off-season, but, for right now, it is Andújar’s job.
Miggy’s homer concluded the scoring for us on Tuesday.
The shutout ended when AJ Cole took the mound, giving up a 2 run double. A third run (unearned) was also tacked onto his total, during Dellin’s relief appearance.
Chappie came in and struck out the side REAL QUICK. REAL FUCKING QUICK. Shout out the Drake song.
He notched his 29th save of the year and didn’t even have a Classic Chappie performance of giving up a walk or hit!

All in all, great win on Tuesday!
