Game 4 Indians Recap: Sunday July 15: 5-2 Loss: Very Bleh Game

This game was bleh. Totally and completely bleh.

I know, I know… that’s a very eloquent and on-point assessment, right? But seriously, bleh is the perfect way to describe it. Maybe thrown in an ugh too. Actually, no, that’s getting too wild. We’ll just stick with the first word…

In Tanaka’s first start back, he was looking pretty good!

6.1 IP, 6 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk, 5 K’s. All in all, pretty good outing for Masa.

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to give him enough run support.

Hicksy got a RBI single in the 3rd, Neil Walker hit a homer in the 4th, and that was the extent of our scor- wait, hold up…Neil Walker hit a home run?! What kind of twisted alternate reality are we living in right now?!

That solo shot probably bought Neil an extra month or two on our team…

Lucky us!

Unfortunately, a 2 run bomb by Edwin Encarnación tied the game up.

Andddd, we couldn’t do anything else all day…when Neil Walker is the batter responsible for the power in the lineup, you know you’re going to have a bad day.

That is a sign as clear as day. Here comes another one of those situations where I type out a saying, but then criticize the saying.

“Sign as clear as day”…? How does this even make sense.

Days aren’t always clear! They can be cloudy, rainy, or just downright gloomy! There can be snow falling, hail falling, or maybe a few cats and dogs.

BUT,

Day isn’t always clear. I don’t know who came up with this saying, but they fucked up. Big time.

Okay, rant over.

In my opinion, Boone left Chad Green in for too long. I understand that our bullpen wasn’t at full strength, after Saturday’s game, but somebody else should have started the 8th.

AJ Cole was rested and ready to go! He would have been a better option in this situation – starting off the 8th inning, of a tied game, with a fresh arm.

But, Boone didn’t see it that way. Green gave up a solo shot to Brantley, and Cleveland tacked on two more runs thanks to a sac fly and a wild pitch…

And have you noticed, I only call Boone, “Boonie” when I am complimenting him, or talking about something good. When I’m annoyed at him, I just call him by his last name – almost as a punishment.

That way, on the off chance that he reads these blogs, he knows when he’s fucking up.

I’ve got him now!

5-2 loss. Fuck it. Not a big deal.

The second half is ours. Once we get Gleyber and Gary back. And trade for a solid starter. And maybe Machado too…who knows?

The All Star Break is here! We have the Home Run Derby tonight (thankfully no Judge, so he won’t ruin his swing for the second half) and the game tomorrow night!

Judge was a complete and utter BEAST last year, though. What a guy, what a guy.

We start off the second half at home, versus the Mets on Friday! Let’s rest up and, when the second half rolls around, we can DESTROY everyone in our path!

LET’S DO IT

LET’S GO YANKS
